Scotland's population is 5.1 million, this is made up of Anglo-Saxon,
Celtic and Scandinavian origin.
English is the main language of Scotland, however, a few thousand
people speak Gaelic. However as a result of exchanges of population
with other parts of Great Britain, Scotland has become as cosmopolitan
as other European regions.
The main religion in Scotland is Christian. The state church is Protestant,
however there are almost as many of the Roman Catholic faith. There
is a high proportion of Catholics in Industrial towns such as Glasgow
and Dundee, which have large Irish populations.
