Scotland occupies approximatly the northern third of mainland Great
Britain. This includes the surrounding islands, the Hebrides and the
Orkney and Shetland Islands. The Capital, Edinburgh is approsimatly
the same latitude as Moscow and Copenhagen. The far North of Scotland
is the same level as Stockholm.
Scotland has a surface area of 30,344 sq miles or 78,720 sq km. This
makes up 34% of the area of Great Britain.
